The RM 27-03 “Raging Bull” is the latest ultra-light sports tourbillon watch from Richard Mille. Featuring a striking red and yellow color scheme, the watch draws inspiration from Rafael Nadal’s home country, Spain, and subtly references the colors of the ongoing French Open on clay courts. The powerful tourbillon movement is enhanced by a bold design, with a mechanical bull’s head hovering above the central movement. Below the bull’s head, the mainspring barrel, gears, and tourbillon escapement are clearly visible. The bull, a symbol of Spain, is Nadal’s chosen emblem, marking its significance in this design.
Much like the previous RM 27, RM 27-01, and RM 27-02 models, the entire movement is suspended at the center of the watch to absorb the extreme shock forces during intense activities. To achieve ultimate shock resistance, Richard Mille has combined cutting-edge industrial materials and precision engineering, using T Quartz to create an integrated case and bottom plate, while the bridges are made of Grade 5 titanium. The accuracy of the tourbillon structure is astonishing, with minimal deviation in its precision.
The orange case and strap are inspired by the colors of the Spanish flag, while the specially crafted crown is shaped like a tennis ball. The black-gray Carbon T bottom plate features layered carbon fiber cut patterns, and the openworked bridges are designed to resemble the image of the bull, enhancing the visual impact of this unique timepiece.
